Scientific Reasoning Education

In one line of work I aim to create interactive educational materials to teach adolescents, college students, and other groups of adults about everyday scientific reasoning principles as understanding concepts such as the difference between correlation and causation, random assignment, control of variables, sample bias, effect size, and news biases are essential skills to have in order to to properly evaluate science.

COVID-19 and Cognition

People often misunderstand some of the statistical and scientific reasoning concepts that are essential for comprehending important information pertaining to COVID-19. In this line of work I examine best practices for explaining complex topics to a lay audience in order to improve understanding of the pandemic and real-life decision-making.

Graph Interpretation

Graphs are an important tool for scientific communication. In this line of work I study how people interpret and use graphs to inform their decision-making.
